Educational Technology Faculty

Yuxin Ma, Ph.D.

Dr. Yuxin Ma is an associate professor of educational technology in CILAT (Center for Innovative Learning and Asssessment Technologies) in the College of Education at UL Lafayette. Dr. Ma holds a Ph.D. in instructional technology from Georgia State University. She has over 10  years experience in designing technology-enhanced educational programs and conducting design-based research that seeks to contribute to the body of knowledge and improve educational practice.

Pavel Samsanov, Ph.D.

Dr. Pavel Samasonov earned his Ph.D. from Texas A@M University in 2001. He worked in the school of Inquiry and Creativity in Bryan, TX as a computer literacy and interdisciplinary teacher during 2000-2001. Dr. Samsonov teaches undergraduate and graduate courses on educational technology.  Dr. Samsonov worked in the Soviet Geological Mission in the Sudan, 1977-1978 and visited in England as an exchange student in 1992.

Douglas Williams, Ph.D.

Dr. Douglas Williams is Director of CILAT (Center for Innovative Learning and Asssessment Technologies) and a professor of instructional technology in the College of Education. He completed a doctoral degree in Instructional Technology at the University of Texas at Austin. He has more than 20 years experience as a programmer and was a member of the team that developed Rigglefish, an educational science game. RiggleFish won 1st Place in the 2011 Adobe Design Achievement Award, Innovation in Interactive Media category and a gold medal in the 2011 International Serious Play Awards competition. Dr. Williams won the UL Lafayette Distinguished Professor Award in 2013.
